Val was mum's cousin and welcomed me into her life when I was living in Invercargill. Val was an inspiration to me and we had many laughs.

Warmest sympathy to the family of Val.
I had the privilege of meeting Val at the Invercargill Toast Mistress Club in 1981.She was a wonderful people person who was always keen to share her talent and skills with others. A great mentor. Val was a wonderful patch worker who lovingly shared her beautiful pieces with family and friends. She was intelligent, outgoing, a great listener. I very much enjoyed her delightful sense of humour and listening to her life stories.
Carole.
