At Southland Hospital on Thursday, 16 November 2017, surrounded by his family. In his 88th year, dearly loved and devoted husband of Joyce for 63 years. Loved and respected father and father-in-law of Dianne and John Cowan (Invercargill), Roger and Gill (Christchurch). Loved Grandad of Bradley, Kaylee and Lucy and step-grandad to Ryan and Mathew. Loved friend of Jackie, Andrea and Michelle. Loved brother of Claude* (Mick) and Elva*. Loved brother-in-law of Colin*, Gordon* and Gwen*, Bruce* and Pat* and Nancy* and Len. As per Russell's wishes, a family service has been held to celebrate a life well lived.
Memories are like

or grow old.
