Thomas FINNIE Obituary

Peacefully passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Radius Clare House, aged 94 years. Loving husband to his late wife Leith. A loving father and father-in-law of Dave and Richelle, and Kirstie. A cherished grandfather to Pauline, Nathan, Hayden, Ashleigh. A loved great-grandfather to all. Loving brother of Jocelyn, Neil* and Russell*. A service to celebrate Ed's life will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel on Thursday, July 11 at 10.30am, followed by a private burial. All messages to be sent to 214A Pomona East, RD6, Invercargill 9876.

Hi Dave and Kirsty, sorry to read of your dad's passing. 94 years was a great age. Most NZ cricketers dont make that many runs.

We have very fond memories of Ed. He boarded with my Grandmother and aunty in Riverton while he was a mechanic . He was there for many years while I was growing up.
My husband Avon remembers him from boat racing days racing against his brothers Muir and Kingsley Dickson and also brother in law Alan Mathieson.
He was racing his boat called Papoose
We send Sympathy to you all he was always him as a quiet gentleman.
