Sylvia Georgina (Sylv)
(nee Nunn):
Passed away on February 27, 2023 at Rowena Jackson Retirement Village, aged 92 years, surrounded by her loving family. Dearly loved wife of Leslie* (Les), and much loved mother and mother-in-law of Janice and Crawford McMillan (Otautau), Nelson and Val (Cromwell), Warren*, Margaret and partner, Alister McLean (Mataura), Cliff and Anne (Bluff), Edward*, Lindsay and Kate (Gold Coast). Loved Nana Sylv of Tania and Jason, Gail and Blair, Carla, Ricky and Selena, Gavin and Rue, Nathan and Korena, Tracey, Jamie and Carolyn, Shelley and Romel, Hayden and Julia, and Nana Sylv to her 17 great-grandchildren. Loved sister of Cath* and Hec* McKenzie, Gordon* and Margaret* Nunn, Jim* and Bev Nunn, and Auntie to her nieces and nephews. The family wish to acknowledge the loving care and support received from the staff at Rowena Jackson. A celebration of Sylv's life will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street, Invercargill, on Thursday, March 2 at 1.30pm, followed by interment at the Eastern Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Southland would be appreciated and may be left at the service. We share our sadness with the family, losing a pillar of the family, Sylv will be remembered by many families of the Water ski club on the Oreti river over many years teaching the kids to waterski, and many hours standing in the water encouraging the young in every way. A lovely lady who was a wonderful family person will be missed by all.
