Stephen George:
Formerly of Greenhills. Peacefully, after a short illness at Southland Hospital on Thursday, August 1, 2019. Aged 72 years. Loved husband of Lyn, and Christine*. Cherished father of Sharon, Tania and Berend Kingma, and Barbara and Bryan Kelly, loved stepfather of David and Lesley Bevin, Michael Bevin, Vicky and Paul Hayes, loved grandad Steve of Ben, Rebecca, Keiran, Christina, Maddy, Georgie, Finn, and Oscar. Loved son of the late Isobel and Cyril, loved brother and brother-in-law of Trevor and Maureen, and Matthew, loved nephew of Maurice, loved brother-in-law of the Seeley and Moseley families, a much loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews. A service for Stephen will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street, Invercargill on Monday, August 5, 2019 at 10.30am, interment will follow at the Greenpoint Cemetery. Aaaaggghhh, Steve! Farewell old Cuzzie. The memories go right back to the Maclennan days when we were just little nippers, and you lived in one of the railway houses, next to the Meeks. Then the move to Outram - the branch was still open then - where we visited many, many times. Always a big adventure and lots of fun (and mischief). Jock's huge garden and his spud paddock off the end of Railway Lane - I think that's how the move to Tisbury (1959) was financed! The Tisbury house - also lots of fun; Wayne and I used to bike the 7 miles out there from Waikiwi and stay for the weekend. Good times, long gone but well remembered. Thanks for the memories - see you on the other side.
