Dear Brent, Jalen, and Shoshanna. We were deeply saddened to hear of Shonas passing. We really appreciated the time Shona devoted to the Basketball Pacific South programme in her Coaching role. Her ability to relate to the players with her skills and her fun sense of humour was always appreciated by all.especially while on tour at Port Macquarie.
Shona will always leave fondest memories with us all. - Pauline Paterson

I am deeply saddened and shocked to hear of Shona's passing, Brent. I have fond memories of Shona teaching me how to do the front crawl when Kathy and I visited one weekend, during our JET time in Hokkaido. I remember she suggested I attempt a triathlon! She was such a natural coach and her enthusiasm contagious! Since then I have developed a love of open water swimming, and just last year I completed two sprint triathlons. She was truly an inspiration, so full of life! Sending my sincere condolences to you and all your family.

Dear Brent, Jalen, and Shoshanna. I was so saddened to hear about Shonas. Saying cheers to her at the start of Lockdown, teasing me, and us laughing over a packet of spice she had "borrowed" I would never have imagined I would never speak to her again. A terrible loss to our school, her devastated students and colleagues. We will miss her joyfulness and smile and courage to stand up for what she believes in.
Thoughts with you all at this painful time,
BS

Dear Brent, Shoshanna and Jaelen, I am writing to express how saddened I am to hear about Shona. You both were so good to me in Japan. My fondest memory was the countless lengths in the pool and wow did we experience a good earthquake that year. You were both so amazing to me. Shona touched so many I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you and your children Brent. From Robyn Daniel (Nee: Burk- Kiyosato 1994)

I am so saddened to hear that Shona has passed away. She was inspirational to so many people & I was lucky enough to play basketball with & be coached by Shona during the Burnside club era.
I also remember fondly staying with Shona & Brent in Japan all those years ago.
