Shirley and I started school in the same year and were in the same class at St Joseph´s and St Thomas´s High School in Oamaru. She was a good friend and I remember she excelled at sports especially Basketball and Marching. Shirley went on to become a very talented doll maker and dresser. A lovely lady cruelly taken from her loved family by Dementia. I have fond memories of fun birthday parties hosted by our respective mums. Sincere condolences to Trevor and families. RIP Shirley.

Trevor and Shirley were so much more than our neighbours when growing up in Balclutha. I will always remember Shirley as an elegant and gracious lady, talented in so many ways. From her love of squash and tennis, to her incredible sewing skills - I will never forget the 5th form formal dress she made for me.
My thoughts are with you all at this sad time. May the many beautiful memories you share of Shirley bring you comfort and strength in the days ahead.
With my deepest sympathy,
Donna Roxburgh xx
