Sandra BURKE Obituary

Peacefully after a short illness, at Gore Hospital, on Saturday, August 9, 2025, aged 79 years. Loved wife of the late Peter, much loved Mum and mother-in-law of the late Jane, Fay and John (Tauranga), Sean and Stephanie; caring Grandma of Bella, Kiani, Zach; Patrick; and loved Aunty of all her nieces and nephews. A private service to celebrate the life of Sandra has been held. Special thanks to the staff at Hospice Southland and Gore Hospital for their care and compassion for Mum. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice Southland. Messages to: 18 Seymour Street, Gore 9710.

We have great memories of Sandra and Peter at Gore Repertory and especially Sandra being in her spot in the wings prompting for many productions over the years. It was great to share the good times at the Little Theatre and the many after match functions at their house. Great memories to cherish. Pat & Allan Boyer

Hello. I am so sorry to learn of Sandra's passing. We have not been in touch for many years but we had been such good friends that I was her bridesmaid. I also boarded with them for a period of time after Peter and Sandra were married. It looks like she had a full, happy and long life. When we reach such a good age, we are ready to move on, death does not seem bad at all to us, just a beginning. Blessings to all the family. Kind regards, Marlene.
