So very sorry to find out that Rosie passed away. On our OAT trip through New Zealand she took me under her wing and showed me all the natural wonders small and big in her beloved country. It was the best and I was so very fortunate to find a fellow lover of the natural world in her. She was a fantastic tour leader as well. Her generous gesture of inviting our group to her lovely house is never forgotten. Rosie, may you immerse yourself in the eternal, magnificent flower pastures in heaven! For always in my heart.

My dear Rose-Mary-Fairy, so many memories starting from around 55 years ago when you lived with us for a while during some of the hard times. I always loved Rosie´s sense of fun and ever so slight naughty streak, her love of dogs, her love of the beauty of nature and her beautiful roast dinners and soups and salads and those deserts!!! Rosie was a magnificent home maker. Rosie taught me to drive in her fiat 850, I also learnt a lot about cooking when I lived with her in the 70´s. We had an hilarious trip to Paris and the South of England with my Mum Doro.
Always so welcoming was our Rosie.
The planet does not feel the same with her large as life personality gone.
Till we meet again my dear.

We all shared the same birth mother but we did not meet Rosie until we were middle aged, much later than ideal.
After initial disbelief, our emotions travelled from shock to excitement and then admiration as we got to know Rosie.
We found her energetic, vivacious and gracious. We are sorry to have lost her again.

I have the fondest memories of Rosie coming to my work at The Ashley Hotel in Greymouth. She was a top class tour guide.

I met Rosie in Christchurch many years ago as I worked with her father, H P Smith. She had such a vibrant personality and lovely demeanor. Geraldine Kemp
