ROSALINA M. MENDONCA
Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother
Rosalina Maria (Cunha) Mendonca, 76, a Lowell resident, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Lowell General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Jose Mendonca who survives her.
Rosalina was born in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal on March 3, 1949, a daughter of the late Antonio Cunha and Maria (Carmo) Cunha. She came to the United States in 1968, settling in Lowell. Rosalina was first employed at Paris Shoe and later at Wang Laboratories. She was a loyal communicant of St. Anthony Church.
Surviving Rosalina are her husband Jose, her two sons, Paul Mendonca and his wife Jenny of Lowell, and Jerry Mendonca and his significant other Nicole Platanites; one granddaughter, Hayley Mendonca; her brother, Antonio Cunha; brother-in-laws Carlos Pereira and Oldemiro Espinola; sister-in-law Maria Guilhermina Cunha; and her Goddaughter, Ana Cunha. Rosalina was the sister of the late Manuel Cunha, Jose Cunha, Agostinho Cunha, Maria Do Carmo Cunha, Cidalia Cunha, Albano Cunha; sister-in-law of the late Marie Henriqueta Cunha and Maria Theresa Cunha; Guadalupe Cunha; godmother of the late Michael Anthony Cunha. She is survived by several loving nieces and nephews; 2 special friends, Maria Joao Correia and Diana Pais. Rosalina's family would like to especially thank the staff and Lowell General Hospital.
FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND ROSALINA'S CALLING HOURS ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2025, FROM 4 PM UNTIL 8 PM AT THE FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL. ROSALINA'S FUNERAL WILL BEGIN ON FRIDAY MORNING AT 9 AM FROM THE FUNERAL HOME, FOLLOWED BY HER FUNERAL MASS AT 10 AM AT ST. ANTHONY CHRUCH, 893 CENTRAL STREET, LOWELL. BURIAL WILL FOLLOW IN ST. MARY'S CEMETERY, TEWKSBURY.
