Roger COWAN Obituary

After a courageous battle with Motor Neurone Disease, Roger passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, aged 62 years. Dearly loved son of Lorna and the late Bob (Robert) Cowan. Much loved brother of Trevor (Alexandra), Neville and Rita (Ashburton), Garry and Fiona (Rangiora), and Natalie and Trevor Cooper (Christchurch). Loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews. Family sincerely thank all of Roger's carers, neighbours and friends, staff of Hospice Southland, staff of Longwood Care Home, for their compassion and care of Roger. As per Roger's wishes a private cremation has been held. A Memorial Service for Roger will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, 2.00pm, Waiau Town and Country Club, Tuatapere. In lieu of flowers, donations to Motor Neurone Disease NZ would be greatly appreciated and can be left at Roger's service.
