Rodney McCABE Obituary

Peacefully on Saturday, September 23, 2023, age 83 at Rowena Jackson Retirement Village. Husband of Daphne, much loved Father and Father-in-law of Gavin and Fiona, Sharon and Brian, Joanne and Steve Jensen, Brent and Darlene, and Kevin and Caron. Dearly loved Grandfather of, Kimberleigh and Teegan, Rebecca and Oscar, Lior and Wren, Araya, Honor and Seth. Proud Great-Grandfather of Oliver Reid, Isla & Zeke Schaumkel. A Service to celebrate Rod's life will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street on Wednesday, September 27 at 2.00pm the service will conclude with a private cremation. Messages to 110 Tokanui Gorge Road Highway, Invercargill 9875. A special mention to the staff at Rowena Jackson for their care and compassion towards Rod during his time there.

I feel very fortunate to have met and spent time with you Rod and am glad that wife got the chance to meet you on our last trip to NZ. Had some great fishing adventures and heard some great stories from a man who lived a great life in a great part of the world. I´m sure you will be missed by all who new you. Dan & Ash Lyons
