Robyn DILLON Obituary

DILLON, Robyn Anne
(nee Moffat):
Passed away unexpectedly at home during the night of 24-25 October 2016, aged 61 years. Dearly loved wife of Lex. Much loved and respected mother and mother-in-law of Luke, Hannah, Sean and Rebecca. Robyn loved her formative Reading Recovery tutoring in Southland and Central Otago and was forever grateful for the hospitality and friendship of her colleagues and teachers. Gone way too soon, far too young - our memories will last forever. A celebration of Robyn's life will be held at St Anthony's Catholic Church, 24 Domain Street, Waiuku, on Tuesday 1 November, at 1.00pm.

I just found out about Robyn's passing recently and while I only worked with her for a very short time at Reading Recovery last year, I will always remember her as she was so welcoming and friendly. My deepest sympathy to her family. Taken too soon.

Came to know about this just recently. Still deeply shocked. She showed great kindness when I lost my mother to cancer while I was doing Reading Recovery. Truly a great teacher and a great person. May her soul rest in peace.

I hadn't seen Robyn for many years but she was a true inspiration to me when I first graduated from university and briefly worked in her class as a beginning teacher. I still use some of the strategies I learnt from her, in my classroom in London. My thoughts are with the Dillon family and all those close to Robyn.

So very sad to hear of Robyn's sudden passing. She was an amazing Reading Recovery Tutor. Always supportive and very caring. Robyn had a special gift of making one feel special. She always sent little thank you cards after each observation. Her bubbly personality made her sessions a pleasure to attend. Our thoughts and prayers go her family at this very sad time. Will always be remembered by the teachers at Fairburn Primary School Otahuhu. Bridget, Lorraine, Sandra and Venice.
