Rex MacINTOSH Obituary

22.1.1946 - 21.2.2025

Beloved son of Clarence* and Mona* MacIntosh. Cherished husband of Aveleen*, dearly loved Dad to Les and Shar, Grandad to Nicole, Stacey, Rory, Hunter, Leon and Bradley, great-grandfather to Lily, Charlotte, Isobel and Rose. Fisherman, friend, brother, uncle, jack of all trades and so much more. After a battle with cancer and fulfilling his final wish to spread the ashes of his darling soulmate Aveleen, Rex, feeling a job well done, slipped away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by loved ones. At Dad's request, friends and family are invited to gather at his home in Tarras this week to celebrate a life well lived, listen to his and Ave's favourite tunes and have a drink or two. Rex will lie in state at his home until midday Wednesday, February 26 for anyone who wishes to see him for one last bourbon before he's cremated. We will hold a ceremony at his home at 12.00pm on Saturday, March 1 to place his ashes with Ave's. Come and have a toast to a top bloke with a heart of gold - friends and family welcome to camp, bring what you need. Let's send off Rex in style. 179 Ruffle Road, RD 3, Cromwell, Tarras.

Rex you were our lovely friendly "Tarras" friend. Always keen for a coffee chinwag and catchup. Keen to lend a hand and some advice on any mechanical or building missions that were required. You will leave a huge gap in our stays at Tarras

Rex, you and Avaleen showed me loads of compassion and love, at a time when I felt the world was against me and for this I will be immensely grateful. You both continued to do so for sometime after too and i thank you for that too.
Its now time for you to rest and for the both of you to return to each other. Rest in peace. Arohanui
