Edward CHESTER Obituary

CHESTER, Edward Glen (Ned)
August 28, 1950 – Fort Macleod, Alberta
May 2, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ned Chester, who left us on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at the age of 67 years, surrounded by his family and their love. Ned grew up near Fort MacLeod, AB and moved to Calgary in his twenties where he found his true love, Sue, and together, they raised three wonderful boys. After retiring in March of 2016, Ned continued to enjoy visiting with family, friends and neighbours, spending time with Carson and Brielle, camping with his family, big game hunting, travelling and most recently working on his new hobby - knife making. Ned's positive outlook and warm and friendly smile will be fondly remembered by his family and the countless people who consider Ned a true friend. Ned was the cherished husband of Sue Chester (nee Taylor), loving father of Dustin, Cody (Lindsay) and Travis, as well as "Grandpa Ned" to Carson and Brielle - all of Calgary. Ned will also be sadly missed by his father Raymond, brother Dennis (Cheryl) and sister-in-law Denise. Ned was also the much loved son-in-law of Harvey and Alice Taylor and brother-in-law to Bryan (Elaine), Don (Maureen), Tim (Arlene) and Pam (Tyler), and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Ellen and brother Don. Memorial Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. So sad to read this news. It seems just yesterday I had one of the many back-alley chats with him. The closeness of his family that I witnessed will be a comfort to Sue but he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Although living in the city he had that small town friendliness, care and interest in his neighbors.

My sincerest condolences to Sue and family in the passing of Ned. His kindness and willingness to help anyone who needed it will always be remembered. Although we will not see his physical body, his spirit and love for Sue and his family will always shine down. He now lives with Our Lord in peace and without any of his worldly pain or suffering. May God less and help Sue through this heartbreaking time. Linda Meunier

My sincerest condolences to Sue in the passing of Ned. I always fund him to be a very kind man who would always give you a hand if you needed one. He will be missed by all who knew him but although his physical presence is absent, you will feel it whenever Sue will speak of him and by the love that will shine in her eyes and the eyes of their boys. God bless
