We were saddened to hear of Peter's passing. He was a great guy. We first met Peter and Pam at UC Davis some 50 years ago. We did a lot of things together and relish the memories. Peter was an excellent student and I still remember some of the fine discussions we had. He had an outstanding career in NZ and was instrumental in deregulation of NZ economy. He will be sorely missed. May his memory be a blessing.

Dearest Pam, we are saddened to learn of Peter´s unexpected passing. We have so many fond memories of our days with you and Peter at University of California Davis working on PhD degrees. We recall many stimulating conversations, along with a bit of fun on the side! After your return to NZ upon completion of the degree, and a time span of almost 50 years of raising our families, we are so happy to have recently (Feb.) reconnected with both of you as you graciously acted as our tour guides showing us your beautiful Wellington on our recent cruise stop - a fun and memorable day with you and Peter. Our deepest condolences to you, the boys, and grandchildren.
Rest in peace, Peter.

We are very saddened to hear of the sudden demise of Dr Peter Bushnell, my first boss in New Zealand in 1986, who I was fortunate to have a coffee with after many years only two months ago.
Our heartfelt condolences to Pam, the three sons who Peter was very proud of and to the wider family.

Regret we were unable to pay our last respects by knowing very late.

Sorry to hear that Peter has gone. Too young. Fond memories of the old days at Lumsden in the early 60's; at school, as kids on the golf course and other adventures. Great times.

To Mr. Bushnell´s family and friends,
I am truly sorry for your loss. I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Bushnell a few years ago as part of a New Zealand delegation that visited Uruguay. I remember him as a kind, generous, and candid man who worked closely with us during that time to support our efforts.
May he rest in peace.

Exceptionally sorry for your loss, Eliot, Louisa and family.
I´ll miss our challenging conversations around the campfire - always respectful of others´ opinions, and with dry humour to boot.
Pam, so very sorry for your loss too - very challenging time for such an important man with such a strong career and following. Xx

I remember Peter well when he was at Treasury in the 1990's. His advice to Minister of Finance Bill Birch was top quality and always highly valued by the Minister.

I am devastated to learn about Peter´s passing. He was an important mentor to me at the Treasury and he brought good humour, high intelligence and a strong work ethic to everything he did. He will be missed.
