Hello Michael and families, I wish to convey my condolences to you all for the loss of Paul. I had a lot of respect for Paul´s experience and knowledge to do with water schemes. I often made communication with Paul if I noticed an issue developing in a particular scheme. He was always greatfull for any information as at that time, areas of some schemes had some issues. I had had quite a bit of experience with water schemes in particular the Tuapeka West Scheme of which I spent many hours with many others at the time it was being installed, then on the scheme committee in later years. So perhaps he had respect for me as well. Some people thought that an answer Paul gave to their question was of no help, however, with Paul, you needed to get your question right to get the right answer. There was no point in flying off the handle with Paul. Paul always followed up on anything I had passed onto him and always let me know the outcome. I wished I could be at his service but not possible because of a timed work commitment.
Kind regards,
Gordon Duthie
