ELIZABETH CITY - September 15, 1931 - October 8, 2024
Dorthy Speer-Nichols was proceeded in death by her parents Sumter Speer & Donnie Speer Collins.
Her siblings Herbert Rudolph Speer, Vida Ruth Moody, Carol Virginia Hicks. Her son Joe P. Poe, Jr.
Survived by Marilyn A. Poe, Linda F. Peters & Janice A. Seabury. Her special friend William Dale Hardy and Jim Davis. 17 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren a host of nieces, nephews, family & friends.
She loves the Lord, her church, her country. She supported Wounded Warriors, Disable Veterans & St. Jude Children. She loved sitting on the porch watching the sunset, hearing the Humming Birds and working with her flowers. She gave special peppermints to her Pastor, "He is some kind of special man" Reverend Jospeh O. Strawn, Sr. she loved her church family at the Freedom Place Ministries. Her favorite bible verse was all of them.
