Reflecting today on memories of Nick and my time in Milford Sound (2008-2019). Such a humble, kind, and generous person.

No job ever too big or too small!

Thank you for all you´re help, advice, and friendly chat.

Rest In Peace, home in the mountains.

Condolences on your loss of Nick. I made lifelong memories from many trips and adventures with Nick in the early 80's.
Working, Climbing, Skiing & Mountain Biking. He welcomed me as a young Lad from Dunedin introducing me to new experiences in the Snow and Mountains.
Always a pleasure to travel with in such an unassuming manner.
Perhaps the first and most memorable was at Easter '84 on a combined Cycle/Climbing Trip with Nick & Alistair that took us from Twizel, over the Copland Pass and back via Haast and Lindis Pass!
We never did get around to repeating it :-)
Sadly missed.

We were privileged to share many times with Nick and Stevie in Twizel. He was a kind thoughtful intelligent man. I also met him in the mountains going off piste. RIP

Sorry to hear this sad news and that I can't be there tomorrow. I always enjoyed hearing Nick's cheery voice at the end of the phone. So many years talking, usually about Milford, such a font of knowledge, he will be missed. Kind regards to family and friends.

I´m sorry not to be with you all today but Maintenance Nick would understand as someone has to keep Milford sound running. I´m sure Nick missed out on many things due to his need to keep Milford running over the years. Didn´t matter if it was day or night, raining or snowing, days off or days on Nick would be wandering through the bush or the community fixing things, often looking like a bedraggled rat in his grubby yellow raincoat.
I´ve been lucky enough to have many a cuppa with Nick and heard many a story of his life adventures and things he was trying to fix at the time. Nick was part of the furniture and a vital cog of in the running of milford. He will be missed.
