to the bourke family please accept our deepest sympathy in the sad loss of nick ii was nicks boss when he joined the railways as a young 23 year old he was a wonderful carpenter very through then he took over from me as ldg hand when i retired in 2002 then he become structures inspector i had a beer with him on the10th october at working mens club ingill i said what are you going to do when you retire in 2 years time he said i am hiring a small bulldozer to clear the gorse on his farm he was very loyal to his mum and dad i am sorry was not able to attend his service as i was stuck in auckland rest in heaven nick till we meet again laurie and maree stephens melbourne

I was so sad to hear of Nick's passing. I worked with Nick many, many years ago at the Railways in Invercargill. A lovely person and a real gentleman.

As convenor of the Motueka Country Club. It was my pleasure to invite Nick as one if our guest artists in our Showcase. He was truly a Southern Cowboy and a gentleman. He was so popular that he was invited back the following year as guest artist. At the festival in 2021is where Nick met Heather, his life time partner.
