I have had the pleasure of knowing not only Nev, but also Norman and Irving, all fascinating, and real people. (Irving even let me drive his V12 as a youth, and the Earnest Hayes gene for inventing and tinkering is alive and well here).
Was always great calling in to the shop to chat with Nev.

Neville will be sadly missed. My thoughts are with the family. Like Neville Hannah & Ernest Hayes were my great grandparents. Neville, his parents and family have carried on the history of the Hayes Engineering Works. Thank you.

Farewell Nev' , friend, client and business operator 'extrordinaire'. Memories of a shared platter and a glass or two at Mana's will remain with me forever. My thoughts are with Vicki, Jarn and all the family on this saddest of occasions.

Very sorry to hear Neville is no longer with us. Attended SBHS with Neville and always had immense repect for his abilities and approach to people. Unfortunately only had intermittent contact with him in subsequent years.

Sincere condolences to Vicki,Clelia and Jarn. So many great memories of Neville going back to our teen years. And so lucky to call him a good mate for all those years.

I had the pleasure of meeting Neville through the late Ross Ryan.We did lots of letterbox signs for E Hayes many years ago.And Neville was a regular visitor and I enjoyed his company and his amazing knowledge on cars ,motorcycles, too Neville always stopped to have a friendly chat in the shop,always made time for who ever it was.My heart felt thoughts to Vicky and his family.A true and fine gent,will be sadly missed Nev,and a pleasure to have known you.Rest easy and now at peace,hope you catch up with Ross,your dad and friends.John Thomson Invercargill .
