JOHNSTON, Neil Kerr:
2.7.1936 - 19.11.2022
Unexpectedly but peacefully in Invercargill. Devoted and much loved husband of the late Edna. Wonderful father, father-in-law and mentor of Dianne and Murray Acker, Yvonne and Peter Scobie. Loved and respected grandfather of Tim, Sally (Mount Maunganui), Bell, Viv (Christchurch), Olivia, Luke (Christchurch), Charlotte, Matt (Brisbane), and a loved great-grandfather of Lily, Olly, Niko, Marcus, Zach, and Lachie. Adored foster-father of June Chamberlain (Sydney). Loved big brother of Ken and Judy (Arrowtown), and Flora and Bruce Kernohan (Hikurangi). Loved and respected uncle of all his nieces and nephews. Special "big-brother" and friend of John and Arieta Kerr and their family: Aaron, Gavin, Neal, the late Joy, Kristi, and their families. A wonderful friend and mentor to friends of the Kennington Presbyterian Church (dissolved). A service to celebrate Neil's life will be held in J Fraser and Sons' Chapel, cnr Esk and Doon Streets, Invercargill, on Friday, November 25 at 2.00pm, followed by interment at Eastern Cemetery.
