Michael HOPE Obituary

I watched the Livestream today and it was nice to be able to share this service. My late husband & I were bridesmaid and best man when Bev & Mike were married. Long time friends.

Deepest Sympathy to the Hope family- fond memories of both Mike & Bev .

Having known Mike since we were both 16 years old and playing music in Invercargill although in rival bands,
I developed a great respect for Mike as both a musician and friend.
We almost got to play together mate. You will be sadly missed. All my love and condolences to your family. R.I.P old friend. Jim

I offer my condolences to the Hope family. Was only talking with Mike a couple of weeks ago. He was so full of life. Now back with his beloved Bev.

Very sorry to hear of Mike's passing, we worked together at the Newfield Tavern for several years. I always appreciated his warm personality, big heart and lovely voice and I'll continue to think of Mike whenever I hear Jack the Knife. My thoughts are with Deanna and family at this time.

I will always remember him as such a kind man. We met when he was drumming with the Diversions. Sending warm hugs

I worked with Mike at 4ZA when was the rugby commentator with his good mate Bob Donnelly. He was always well prepared with his card with team names and numbers. I'll always remember one call in the Southland v Northland match at Rugby Park where he got the phrase "the feet were fiercely rucking" slightly mixed up. Like the true pro that he was he quickly moved on. We did play it back a few times afterward though!!! He was good bloke and loved his rugger. Thoughts are with the Hope family.
