Maurice PLATO Obituary

28.11.1942 – 3.12.2023 It's with great sadness that Val Skinner, Allison Craig and Tom, announce their loved brother passed away on Sunday at Dunedin Public Hospital. Son of Tom and Eva Plato (formerly Te Anau). He has joined his parents and siblings John, Evelyn, Ernie and Robin. A stalwart of Canterbury rugby, and a harness racing follower, he enjoyed his latter years moving south to be closer to family. A much loved brother, and uncle to his nieces and nephews, a kind and gentle soul who will be greatly missed. A service will be held at J Fraser and Sons Chapel, Cnr Esk and Doon Streets at 10.00am, Friday, December 8, to celebrate Maurice's life with his family. Messages to Mrs V Skinner, 2/16 Clyde St, Winton 9720 or on Maurice's tribute page at frasersfunerals.co.nz where a livestream link can be found.

The Ainscough family in Perth, WA

December 6, 2023

In `91, our wee family arrives, to start afresh, establish new lives...
New faces, new names, what´s the go? So many members of clan Plato.
Min, John, Evie and Val, but who's who? And two bloody Maurices, what do I do!
But quiet Uncle Maurice, was a gentleman true, he sat to the side, he knew what to do.
And when things settled down, he welcomed me in, with a chat about rugby, a smile and that grin.
So go well Uncle Maurice, it´s time to rest, to meet and to know you, our family was blessed .... Edmund xxxx
