Mary was a wonderful person who touched the lives of many especially to the Filipino community. Mary was the one who initiated to request Filipino priest to officiate mass in St. Michael Church in Lumsden. We love you Mary and we´ll surely miss you. May the Lord God grant you eternal peace.

Our greatest sympathies are with Mary Ryan's family and friends. Mary was the most kindhearted and compassionate person my family and I were blessed to have in our lives. Her time and generosity was invaluable to us when we were first settling in New Zealand from the Philippines. Her loving and kind nature has touched so many more families beyond our own to the wider Filipino community in Southland who will remember Mary so fondly for always.
Thank you, Mary. You were a true saint to us and to many. May you find eternal peace and rest.

Sister Mary was a big part of our journey here in NZ. She was our second mother. She was selfless, compassionate, she was a blessing to us. She will always have a special place in our hearts. We are forever grateful to God for giving her to us, to the Filipino community. We love her dearly.7
