15.3.1929 - 18.10.2024
Daughter of Irene and Albert Peters of Invercargill, sister of Graeme and Claire Peters, mother of Bryony, Kathleen and Robin Walker. A year ago Shirley fell, broke her hip and died. Our simple notice of her passing failed to mention the many years of voluntary public service Shirley gave to hospice, Girl Guiding, National Council of Woman, and historical research. Thanks to all those friends made along the way who made Shirley's near-100 year life such a happy one.
Sadly missed, Kath and Rob.

I knew Shirley thru her many, many years of Girl Guiding. She was one of the trainers in my earlier days and I was lucky enough to be taught the art of true Girl Guide Camping under her leadership. Her skills went way beyond this and many leaders and girls benefitted from her knowledge and experience. She was truly an amazing woman. She will always be remembered fondly ~ Di
