Betty has been my friend for about 66yrs. She was a couple of years behind me in high school and we both did institutional catering management at the Domestic Science College in Belfast. She followed me to work at Sidcot Boarding School in Somerset and then out to Dunedin NZ to work in the student resident halls. I was Betty's bridesmaid. Despite living in different cities over the years our friendship and family connections have remained strong sharing Xmas day tea together in the 70's when our families lived in Invercargill and Riverton. Staying in Wanaka with Betty and Les and latterly having visits in Christchurch when Betty came up to see her sons and grandchildren. So sorry to loose such a dear friend.

I am a good friend of Stina Mooyman. I didn't know Betty well except through Stina. I want you, as family, to know that while you don't know me I feel I know you through Stina speaking about you all so often. What a wonderful friendship she and Betty had? 61yrs is a very long time? Love and blessings to you all at this difficult time. Sudden death is so hard to come to terms with. I had it with my father. Take care, kind regards, Margaret O'Brien
