Luke DAWSON Obituary

Suddenly at home, due to a medical event, on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Aged 30 years. Much loved son of Michelle and Hugh Dawson. Dearly loved brother of Gaby, and Hannah, and brother-in-law of Godwin, and Sam. Treasured partner of Chey, and loving Dad to Skylar, Aliya, and Aroha. Being a Dad was his calling and his happy place. He loved his work and friends at C.S. Art. A friend and brother to many. A service to celebrate Luke's life will be held in J Fraser and Son's Chapel, corner Esk and Doon Streets, Invercargill, on Saturday, January 24, at 12.00pm, followed by interment at Eastern Cemetery. First off I would like to thank Hugh and Michelle for bringing such a wonderful soul into the world. I was so happy when he was born and it's the first time a child had given me literal butterflies in my stomach. I can't imagine the pain and heart ache his immediate family are feeling. It's bad enough for me being the aunt. Luke loved with me for a time, I had to apologise for something and he just lifted his shoulders and said your family it doesn't matter. Although I hadn't seen him in a long while I messaged him and told him how happy I was that he was happy with his new relationship and family.
He was such a good kid and kind soul and I will miss him. I have so many great memories of him and his family I will never forget. Rest easy young man, taken too soon.
