Linda Arreola Dominguez, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and proud woman of faith, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 28, 1937, in Rodeo, Durango, Mexico, to Guadalupe Rivera and Salomón Arreola.
Linda was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church, living her faith with grace and humility. She carried a quiet strength and deep compassion that inspired everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 33 years, Arnulfo Dominguez; the father of her children, Guadalupe Pino Ferrales; her beloved daughter, Stella Ferrales; her brother, José Arreola; and her stepson, Ismael Dominguez.
She is survived by her children Sandra Coe (Dan), Sal Ferrales (Rose), and Sonia Madrid (Victor); stepson Alvin Dominguez (Cynthia); stepdaughters Corina Avina and Celinda Gomez (Franco); and sister-in-law Ale. She also leaves behind her siblings Licha Infante (Stan), Rosalia Olivas and the late Jesús Olivas, and Lupe Ferrales and the late Neto Ferrales; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and close friends who were like family.
Linda was the proud matriarch of 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and was joyfully awaiting the birth of her first great-great-grandson. She poured her love into every generation, always present with a kind word, warm hug, or plate of her famous homemade Mexican food. Her kitchen was the heart of every gathering, filled with the aroma of tradition and the joy of togetherness.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to her devoted caregivers, Irania Caro and Paloma Chavez, for the compassion and comfort they gave during her final days.
Pallbearers will be Richard Ferrales, Korbin Shelley, Anthony Dominguez, Ernie Ferrales, Anthony Ruelas Madrid, Joseph Arreola, Robert Infante, and JJ Olivas. Honorary pallbearers are Sal Ferrales Jr. and Michael Herrera.
Linda dedicated over 30 years to Las Cruces Public Schools, where she formed lifelong friendships and made a lasting impact on the lives of students and colleagues alike. Her generous spirit, strong work ethic, and kind heart will be remembered always.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral, 1240 S. Espina Street. Visitations will begin at 09:30 A.M. Followed by a Rosary at 10:30 A.M. and Mass at 11:00 A.M., celebrated by Father Alejandro. Interment and Rite of Committal will conclude at Masonic Cemetery. A fellowship gathering will be held at the Elks Lodge.
Linda was, and always will be, the best mother, grandma, great-grandma, and tía. Her faith, love, and unforgettable cooking brought everyone together—and her legacy will live on in every memory, every meal, and every heart she touched.
