Our love and thoughts are with you Julia and family. Lester and I had many battles on the tennis court in our younger years, both being coached by the late Neville Hoskins. We progressed to squash and rugby for Old Boys Invercargill. In later years it was great to catch up at Cup Week and have the odd game of tennis. You have fought your last battle Lester. Rest In Peace. Trevor and Wendy Wilson, Christchurch

Condolences to the Smith family. Lester was a man of sharp intellect and few words. Lester had great taste in some of the finer things in life, particularly motor vehicles, but was equally at home in a Sport's Bar wearing his jandels, drinking a 12oz beer and having a punt on the tote. Lester will be missed by family and friends.
