Kathryn Gladstone
(nee Clarke):
On Wednesday, 15 March 2017, peacefully at home in Dunedin with her family. Daughter of the late Maurice and the late Margaret Clarke, dearly loved wife of Garth, loved mother and mother-in-law of Christopher (Dunedin) Kate and Peter Johnson (Wellington), Rebecca and John Timpany (Hong Kong), Gregory and Suzanne (Gore), and Nicholas and Ellen, Alix and Richard Fyfe, Tim and Annie, and Caroline (all of Dunedin), and cherished grandmother to all her grandchildren: Josh, Benjamin, Juliette and Henry; Daniel; Sophie, Alex, Grace and Josephine; Oliver, Esse, William, Serafina, Jerome and Vincent; Sam, Madeleine, Xavier, Joseph, Patrick, Michael and Bernadette; Tim, Louis, Sylvie and Charlie; John, Jack and Joseph. Loved sister and sister-in-law of Forde and Pam Clarke (Ohoka Christchurch), and loved aunt to Isabella and Kirsty. Requiem Mass for Kathryn will be celebrated on Saturday, 18 March, at 10.00am, at St Joseph's Cathedral, Rattray Street, Dunedin. Rosary will be said on Friday evening March 17 at 7.00pm at the Cathedral. Messages to PO Box 5735, Dunedin 9058.

My deepest condolences to Kathryn's family. She was my history lecturer at university and fought my side during a long divorce proceeding. Kathryn was a brilliant woman with so many interests. She always had time during our meetings to encourage me and, even though she worked so hard, always had time for her family as well.

My sincere condolences to Garth and all your children and grandchildren. What a great loss! You have lost a great figure of inner strength, woman of faith, a fighter, a person of determination, and just simply a true and genuine carer. A great friend. The very first thing that first comes to mind for me when Katheryn's name is mentioned, is how she always makes me feel very special. Whenever we meet for a coffee or lunch and her phone rings, Kathryn will NOT answer it, unless of course it was Garth or one of her kids. Otherwise, she'll just take one look and say it's ok she'll call them later. I will always remember that about you Kathryn. You will be greatly missed and with much respect.
