Juanita Smith Obituary

Juanita J. Smith, 75, of Upper Burrell, died Saturday (Nov. 16, 2002) in Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.

Born Oct. 25, 1927, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, she lived in Upper Burrell for 55 years. Mrs. Smith was a 56 year member of the Church of the Open Bible in Ottumwa, Iowa. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Charles W. Smith; a son, Charles G. (Patricia) Smith of Valparaiso, Indiana; a daughter, Mrs. Jeanne (Herb) Gundy of New Alexandria; a brother, Jon Granby of Oregon; and two sisters, Bette Bloomquist of Iowa and Rosemary Long of Illinois. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Jill and Kyle Gundy of New Alexandria. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, William and Orianna Prather Granby; a brother, William Granby Jr.; and two sisters, Annabelle Covert and Evelyn Pastuch. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Howard Greenfield, pastor of Zion United Methodist Church, Sarver, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
