John O'KANE Obituary
(Formerly of Alexandra). Passed away peacefully in Nelson (after a short illness) on Friday, February 5, 2021; aged 94 years. Beloved husband of the late Joyce (nee Cross). Much loved and cherished father and father-in-law of Anne and the late Joe, Graeme and the late Patricia (Trish), John and Shirley, Kevin, Marion. Dearly loved granddad, great granddad, and great-great-granddad to all his family.
John loved his bowls and will be well remembered as one of the sport's gentlemen.
Grateful thanks to the staff at Summerset in the Sun Rest Home for their care and support of John. A Funeral Service to celebrate John's life will be held at St Mary's Church, Manuka Street, Nelson, on Friday, February 12, at 11.00am. In lieu of flowers, donations to Diabetes New Zealand may be left at the service. Messages to The O'Kane Family, C/- 102A Victoria Rd, St Kilda, Dunedin 9012.

It is with much sadness Claire and I learn of Johns passing -He was a champion on and off the greens> Claire and John were runners up in the very first new zealand Mixed bowls pairs - A great member of the United club - our love and sympathy to the family
