Passed away unexpectedly during recovery from a brave and hard-fought battle. Dearly loved soulmate of Susan. Much loved and respected father and father-in-law of Ben and Dani, Boon, Kristen and Alex, Tina and Iggy, and Michelle and Brad, and the late Mathew. Special uncle to Mark and Colette. Cherished and fun-loving grandfather of his many grandchildren. Loved son-in-law of Myrtle Rae. John will be privately cremated. Family and friends are warmly invited to join in celebrating John's life and sharing memories from 2.00pm to 6.00pm on Wednesday, April 8 at the Kaka Point Bowling Club, 34 Tarata Street, Kaka Point. So very sad to hear that John has passed away. I have fond memories of him and his brothers when we were young children, making (harmless) mischief in the neighbourhood. He was a good friend to our brother John, and the last time we saw each other was at John's funeral in May 2 years ago. We won't be able to join you to celebrate his life, but will be thinking of you all. Bernice & Noel Hassed
