Jack was the Southland Times accountant for 10 of the 12 years that I was CEO. I valued highly his expertise in the financial field and enjoyed his support and friendship during the decade we worked together. My condolences are with the family at this time.

Sincere condolences to the family of Mr Aitken. I worked at the Southland Times many years ago when he was the accountant there, and I worked in accounts. He was a lovely, lovely man. A real gentleman with a great sense of humor. And he was always Mr Aitken to me. Remember him with love.
