Jessie BIRSE Obituary
Peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Calvary Hospital, Invercargill, in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the late Cliff. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Neil and Dawn, Keith and Margaret, the late Janice, Jill and Geoff Burns. Loved nana of all her grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren. Loved daughter of Johanna* and John* Henry. A loved sister of Ina*, Molly*, Bob*, Betty*, Edith*, Jack* and Joan*. A loved aunty and great-aunty to all her nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. A special thanks to friends and relatives for your visits and your support, and also to the kind staff at Calvary Hospital. A Service to celebrate Jessie's life will be held in St Andrew's Church, Elles Road, Invercargill, on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 1.00pm, followed by an interment at The Eastern Cemetery, Invercargill. Deepest sympathies and condolences to you all at this sad time. I played bowls with Cliff at Georgetown and knew both he and Jessie very well. I remember Jessie as a wonderful person with a kind heart and keen sense of humour. My thoughts are with you all as you prepare to say farewell to her and remember Cliffy at the same time.
