I met Jenny when she mentored me as a new teacher in Masterton. We had so much in common that we quickly became friends: southlanders, mothers of 4 sons, a love of the fine things in life- food, china, jewellery, art, shows, travel, long talks and long walks. I missed her greatly when she moved back South but loved visiting her as she was always the most gracious and thoughtful hostess. My thoughts are with her very dear family who will be learning to live their lives with a piece now always missing.

Jenny was so loved and will be missed by so many. I met her in Masterton whilst I was training to be a teacher, she became my mentor then friend. We shared many things, a Southland upbringing, mothers of 4 sons, a love of china and beautiful objects, homemaking, gardening, long talks and long walks. I missed you so much when you moved back south but loved my visits always the most gracious hostess. Your decline was cruel especially hard on your wonderful family. You will live forever within our hearts and be remembered as the most beautiful lady that you were.

My heart felt sympathy for your loss to all Jenny´s family. Special thoughts to Margie and Don as you are the siblings I met when staying at the farm.

We roomed together in a flat in Herriot Row Dunedin, as students. Jenny invited me to go home to the farm in Gore several times where I was so warmly welcomed by the family.Fabulous food I remember.
We visited Jenny in Masterton several times and then I met up again in Dunedin to go to the 50th reunion- this was our last time together. Many phone calls after that and then one day these ceased.

Thank you Jenny for all the wonderful times together.RIP
