My sincere sympathy to Murray & family on the sad loss of Jan. A bright light has been extinguished. Jan was a lovely woman with a heart as big as Texas. She called a spade a spade, had a warm' caring & generous spirit & was always willing to lend a helping hand. We, at housie, were the grateful recipients of her cinnamon oysters, bacon & egg pies & assorted other goodies. My young grandsons have tractor calendars on their wall & other gifts from Jan. She brighten up the room with her humor. I, along with many others from housie will miss her so much. We were blessed to call her a friend. Rest in peace Jan. You've earned it.

To Jan's Family,
Terribly saddened, to read of Jan's passing. I, have fond childhood memories of playing & staying at Jan's family home in Mataura. Swimming in that big swimming pool & going to the Oamaru races, where we found a brown envelope containing a large amount of cash. Thinking, we were doing the honest thing, we handed it in to the first man at the grounds office. Never did hear any announcements put over the loud speaker for any lost cash, much to Mr O'Connor's horror. I have fond memories of your parents who had the grocery shop 'Jamar Foods' down Main Street Mataura, back when Mataura was a humming wee town.
My condolences to both of Jan's Families.
