Uncle Jim was an awesome man and have such great memories of all our trips away. Sorry I couldn't be there to say good bye yesterday. Thinking of you all. Lots of love Scott and Amanda Whitaker

Ainslee, deepest sympathy to you and your family. I remember Jim well, from our Tech days to post office times. A really nice bloke.

Very sad to hear of Jim's passing. My thoughts go out to Ainslee and family.
I knew Jim from the NZPO days and worked in the Drawing Office with him mid 1970s through to the Telecom days of the very early 1990s.
A very knowledgeable guy with a huge amount of wisdom.
Huge respect for all his opinions and advice.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of Jim. Sympathy and thoughts to Ainslee and the family. I echo the thoughts of Harry about how he was such a top bloke. Worked with Jim at NZPO in the Drawing office and also played basketball with him at Knaves

Condolences on the passing of Jim
He was intelligent, articulate and just a good guy
As a child I would run through his vege patch of potato & carrots in the railway corridor. He never seemed to mind much and besides we were busy playing war. Jim must've planted the Chinese gooseberry tree as well that we would eat
Then I ended up working for him at the NZPO

A top bloke that the world needs more of

I´m sorry to read of Jim passing. I saw him on Thursday and he was sleeping so didn´t have a pat of Ruby as he usually did. My love and sympathy Ainslee, you will both get some rest now.
