James Neil Macpherson "Neil" FOSTER

James FOSTER Obituary

JP Retired
On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at his home in Bannockburn (late of Thornbury). Loved husband of Elfreda (Freda) for almost 67 years. Incredible Father and father-in-law of Alison and Rodney Mason (Bannockburn), Marianne (Invercargill), Neville and Jacqueline (Australia), and Lynley Andrew (Waimatuku). Precious Grandad Neil to Darryl, Paul, Robert, Kim, Jodi, Steven, Kris, Baden, Callum and their partners and 16 great-grandchildren. Brother, brother-in-law and uncle to his many nieces and nephews. Lifelong friend to many. In accordance with Neil's wishes a private cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to share their memories of Neil with Freda and family on Saturday, October 19, at the Bannockburn Hall from 2.00pm. Sincerest thanks to St Johns and First Responders for their care and support to Freda. Messages can be sent to 16 Hall Road, Bannockburn RD2, Cromwell 9384. Or email to Elfreda. Neil always said he wanted to stay at his home in Bannockburn, enjoying the view from his chair until he passed. He has fulfilled that wish in his 91st year. We might be sad at his passing, but we also celebrate the life of a good man well loved and know that his legacy will live on in our memories.
