Saddened to hear of Jims passing. He was a fellow schoolmate at St Patrick's Kaponga and Sacred Heart College Auckland. I enjoyed many tennis outings with him and Julia in our single days. Sincere condolences to all the family.

To all of Jim's clan, sincere thoughts and well wishes on his passing. Always remembered first and foremost as a thorough gentleman, a kindly soul, an absolute rock of reality and unconditional support in a rapidly changing rugby world through the late 90's, and an impassioned speaker with the squad on the eve of the 1996 Wellington v Taranaki away game, instilling purpose enough to 'nearly win' and set the scene for the Ranfurly Shield snatch off Auckland the following weekend. Legend. A life well lived. RIP Jim.
