3 July 1940 – 4 March 2025

Loved and loving husband of Alma Mary (nee Shirley). Loved and loving father of Alanna, Lynley, Yvonne, and Natalie. Loved father-in-law of Doug, and Michael. Loved and treasured grandfather of Mark*, Tamsyn, Michaela, Lana, Jak, James, Sean, and Ruby. Loved grandfather-in-law of Glen, and Pūnua. Loved great-grandfather of Anja, and Isla. Loved son of the late James and Harriet Burke. Loved brother and brother in-law of Marie*, Steven* and Joan, Vern*, Bart and Chrissy, Phillip* and Judith*, Gilbert* and Vera, Rene* and Evan, and loved uncle. Special thanks to the staff at Clare House for their wonderful care of Jim, Alma and family. Many thanks to Dawn Acker, Dr Rebecca Short and the Waihopai Health Staff, and John Burrows and the Gladstone Pharmacy staff for all their care of Jim and Alma.
