Yesterday

So many years since we kicked around as neighbours in Gore. You were a lovely young lass then; that never changed.

How I enjoyed my conversations with Irene when I visited her while she was in Te Anau. She had "kicked around" with my uncles in her early days in Gore and we shared memories of those folk. She was an innovative, interested and interesting person to talk to. She had anticipated possibly building and living on "pleurisy hill" in Gore at one stage and we used to laugh about that name. I think of her often, especially when I pass the "Cats Whiskers" in Te Anau and Pleurisy Hill on my way into Gore. My condolences to the family. A vibrant woman in her time.
