Irena O'BRIEN Obituary
16.12.1928 – 7.6.2025
Irena's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all those that attended Irena's funeral, sent messages of sympathy, flowers, cards, phone calls and many food items. Your support during this difficult time has been great support. Thank you so much to the amazing St Johns Ladies that were so patient with Mum at her home. To the fantastic staff at Gore Hospital, you were all so absolutely incredibly caring to Mum during her time in your care. Heartfelt gratitude to Father Sani Lam for your special visits to Mum's bedside and for her beautiful funeral service. We are sure you would have made her feel quite content to be at the front of the church. Also our gratitude to Sharon Peterson for reciting Mum's Rosary, so very much appreciated, and all that helped with the beautiful music. The eulogies given by Andrea McAdam and Mark La Hood sharing beautiful memories of an amazing life by an amazing Lady, thank you both so very much. To Rob and Lea from Southern Funeral Home, we will be forever grateful for the love and support you gave us and for the amazing care and kindness you gave Mum. Thank you also for the special trips past her happy place on the hill before her final resting place. Also big thank you to the incredible District Nurses and Access staff, and special mention to Erica, for the care you gave to Irena over the past few years, you are all incredible in your work.
We will always cherish our time and our memories of our beautiful Mum and Nanny.
May she rest in peace and now be in God's loving care.
