Ian IRWIN Obituary

As the sun rose, dad removed his gumboots and lay down his shepherd's crook for the last time. He went to join his greatest love Jen – 'finally together again'. Formerly of Wyndham, Ian passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, at Peacehaven Village, on Sunday, January 18, 2026, aged 92 years. Deeply loved and cherished husband of the late Jennifer (nee Leitch) for 62 wonderful years. A much loved and treasured dad to Iona and Doug, and Barbara and Diana. Absolutely adored Poppa to Amy, Dave, Mila and Teddy; Jenna, Shane and Aria; Breanna, Jesse, Nikau and Ardie, and a loved brother and brother-in-law and Uncle Ian. A Celebration of Ian's life will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, 1.00pm at Wyndham Presbyterian Church, 78 Balaclava Street, Wyndham. Interment at Wyndham Cemetery will follow. Messages to 136 Oreti Road, Otatara, 9RD, Invercargill 9879 or to Ian's tribute page where his livestream link is available.
