Sending my condolences to Shirley and the Farquhar family. Ian's genealogy research is about to be cited in yet another document, sadly, after his passing. I enjoyed meeting him in 2020 and getting a tour of Barton Hill. At that time, he generously shared his collection of rare family photos, soon to be published, for everyone to enjoy.

The end of an era. Ian was my mother's cousin and part of the Bishop, Morris and Barnes families in Dunedin. Rest easy.

Hello, I'm the son of Richard Henshaw who was a life-long friend of Ian and co-shipping devotee. I admire the long friendship they had and remember Ian and Shirley for their warm hospitality. Very sad for this huge loss. All the best.

My first boss, A good man who was also supportive and a bloody great bloke. Will miss the book deliveries and drop offs and his dry sense of humour. Really great inning. Im sure Ian has touched many in his 94 years. I will never forget his influence on me and the lessons he taught me in life. Rest easy Far Q . Rest up ya camera and RIP.

To the family and Shirley, condolences at this sad time but you should be proud of a great man.
