Ian BROWN Obituary

Has played his last end in his final bowling tournament on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, passed away at Hospice Southland, aged 69 years. Peacefully in Jan's loving arms, with his family by his side. Dearly loved husband of Jan for 42 years. Much loved and respected father of Liam and Alyce. Treasured Grandad of Ella, Barron and Soren. Beloved brother of Barry and Val. Loved son-in-law of Bob and Linda* Stevenson. Loved brother-in-law of Rex and Andrea Stevenson. Dearly loved by his nieces and nephews, and his extended family of Jolene, Taylah, Jared, Piper, Eli and Rico.
Good friend, coach and mentor to many.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Southland would be gratefully appreciated and can be left at his service. A service to celebrate Ian's life will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, 1.30pm in J Fraser and Sons Chapel, corner Esk and Doon Streets, Invercargill. Sincere heartfelt thoughts and prayers to you all at this sad time. Ian lived a full life and you all can be proud of what he achieved in his time. I had the pleasure of working with Ian whilst in the union and when he was chairperson of the Prison social club .Always willing to put in 110 % RIP iAN
