Maria (Herman):
Peacefully and surrounded by his loving family, our most precious and treasured Husband, Dad, Opa and Old Opa passed away on Tuesday, 27 September 2016; 91 years young. Treasured soulmate and best friend of Leonie for 63 years. Precious Dad of Graham and Barb, Jen and David, Herman and Chrissy, Pete and Kay, and the late Peter. Most loved Opa of Bryleigh and Matt, Mark, Jenna and Paul, Greg and Yvette, Steve and Becky, Nikki, Lauren and Brad, the late Wade, and the late Bradley. Wonderful Old Opa of Georgia, Meila, Nina, Arthur, and Evie.

A Requiem Mass to celebrate Herman's life will be held in the St Mary's Basilica, Tyne St, on Friday 30 September, at 10.00am, followed by interment at the Eastern Cemetery. Donations to Hospice Southland may be left at service in lieu of flowers. Messages to 64 Vyner Road, Otatara, RD9, Invercargill, 9879.

Dear Aunty Leonie and family, all my love and thoughts are with you all at this desperately sad time of losing dear Uncle Herman. Words can't explain the awful emptiness and sadness but I know you will all gain strength from knowing that Uncle Herman is no longer suffering. I think this is one of the things that helps you get through! You"ll all have such gorgeous memories of your fabulous Husband, Dad and Opa - which are soooo precious. I remember all the fun we had, especially when Uncle Herman always turned up with the "coolest' fireworks for our Guy Fawkes night up on the hill!! Lots of love and thoughts to you all, Vanessa xxx
