Hazel Matilda MASON

Hazel MASON Obituary

Peacefully on February 19, 2024, at Clutha Views Lifecare; aged 91 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Ernie, much loved mother and mother-in-law of Cliff and Lesley, Jackie and Mike Coll, Denise and David Anderson, and Stephen, cherished Nana of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Fond Memories


A service to celebrate Hazel's life will be held on Saturday, February 24, at 11am in our Chapel, 12 James Street, Balclutha, then leaving for the Balclutha Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Balclutha St John Ambulance would be appreciated and may be left at her service. The family wish to thank Dunedin Hospital, and Clutha Views Lifecare staff for their wonderful care given to Hazel. Messages to 1308 Kaka Point Road, RD1, Kaka Point 9271.

Thinking of you all at this time. Remember the good times that the family had. Lasting memory of Hazel & Ernie is the deer that Ernie & Trevor shot & Hazel pot roasted some for our Wedding Breakfast in 1967 Jackie was our flower girl. Never tasted venison like it since must have been the coal range. Sandra & Trevor Sparrow

My most favourite Aunty. Beautiful memories of my stay with her Uncle Ernie and awesome cousins. The best whitebait patties in the world and my Dad absolutely loved the kitchen table filled with half gees. RiP Beautiful lady love to all xxx
