Tim Cadogan - Mayor of Central Otago

Many years ago I had been made a finalist in the South Island advertising awards. At the time, I was raising two kids on my own and planned to hitch-hike to Christchurch to attend the Awards. Grant heard of this and told me to fill up my car at his pump and drive up. I will never forget that kindness he showed me. A truly decent man.

I have fond memories of the Ward family living over the road from us in Ashworth Street, and in later years, Grant being a true gentleman where nothing was ever a problem at the garage in town. My deepest sympathy to Margaret, Derek, Anna and families.
